ABOUT- ASTRID BLAKE
Heritage- Astrid’s aesthetic sense is born from her dual heritage of Nordic and British, both cultures known for great style with their own distinctive and individual looks. Nordic- clarity, strong, natural, paired back and British eclectic, heritage, classic with a twist- combine these and add Astrid’s natural eye for colour, innate aesthetic sense, love of design and a holistic approach.
Training- With a life long passion for design and colour, Astrid studied Textiles Design at Herriot Watt University in the Scottish Boarders- awarded with a BA Hons 1st class degree and Interior Design at the Chelsea College of Art, London.
Experience- Astrid offers 20 years plus experience in the design world, she has worked as a consultant in trend forecasting with leading global trend company WGSN in London and PEJ Gruppen, the Scandinavian Trend Institute, Denmark.
The creator and design director of lifestyle brand Alice & Astrid sold into top end boutiques globally. Astrid's aesthetic translates through from the initial design concepts, colour, print and fabric selection, to styling the photo shoots for the campaigns which have been key forming in the Alice & Astrid look.
Studio- In 2009 Astrid moved to North Yorkshire, with her husband and two children, where the light airy studio is now based. Astrid is inspired by both country and city, nature, art, history, keeping traditional skills alive while forging new paths.

Astrid is passionate about design and supporting others, make dreams a reality, she does this though her design consultancy service working with businesses, mentoring clients on a 1:1 basis and her courses.
