Timeless polka dot

Timeless polka dot

Alice & Astrid has always been dotty about of polka dots - they have a timeless appeal, successfully marrying up sophisticated style and old-school femininity with a light-hearted edge.

Christian Dior used polka-dots in a New Look collection, in what Vogue reported was a "direct, unblushing plan to make women extravagantly, romantically, eyelash-battingly female".

Royalty and Hollywood stars have been photographed in polka dots. Favourites include Diana, Princess of Wales, Kate Middleton, The Duchess of Cambridge, Marilyn Monroe and Bridget Bardot.

The catwalks this season has seen designers including Balenciaga, Loewe, Jonathan Anderson and Jacquemus playing with polka dots using different scales and applications. At Alice & Astrid we like to keep them small, printed on the finest silk and crafted in a clean silhouette. Our glamorous full length silk dressing gown, can be worn both at home or out and is a modern classic the wardrobe.
