Everything starts with the body; feeling and sensuality enlighten our lives, they also embody the qualities found in fabrics at Alice & Astrid. As our homes provide a framework to our lives, offering security, love, respect and provenance. We want to design shapes to complement your lifestyle. 

Inspiration: a collection often comes together up at Astrid’s mothers cabin in Norway high up in the woods overlooking the Fjord, far away from distractions of the modern world, were even a bath or shower have to be taken down in the Fjord.  

Once the designs are completed and patterns finalised from the design studio in London its time to move to the final stage.  

Astrid then travels to south India.

Alice & Astrid design and make all their own fabrics creating beautiful collections with the help of our friends Micky, Lisa and Tony in India we manage to produce excellent quality and workmanship.  

Nature plays its part too.

Once the process of choosing the colour combinations is completed we wait to see the outcome of the dying process.  It is always exciting to see the colours form on the silks drying in the sunlight, the outcome a balance of our efforts with natures, the whole process harmonizing with Alice & Astrid own unique qualities. 

For the moments when you wish to feel truly glamorous, elegant and luxuriant, to the warm and cosy moments or summer care-free breezy days; all are intimate and special times.
